I'm sitting in one of those coffee houses watching people conversing over their special designed cups of caffine, and wondering why these places have replaced having coffee around the kitchen table?
I remember my mother, having neighbors, my grandma and others over for coffee. Nothing fancy, just Folger's coffee served in simple non matching coffee cups. Simple and beautiful....
Of course, this is a very cool place. The music is lively, the smells are intoxicating, and conversation is happening. We could do the same thing in our home, actually this place is set up as the perfect home. Decor is comfortable, bright and clean. Is that the problem.....we'd have to clean the house?
I don't think so. I think we just don't want to actually lower our defenses an allow someone into our lives on a deeper more real level.
So in keeping with my resolution....uh plan! No more speaking that stuff...... I'm going to just have someone over for coffee around the kitchen table. I think a neighbor. Being open to hospitality means , I have to be intentional! So, maybe today, I'll pick up some nice new flavor and give it a try. How about you? Let's reconnect to our roots! I know it will change our world. Truly, I think we could solve the world's problems and bring world peace! All over that cup of joe!
